Kea is a multi-hyphenate storyteller and teacher. She is a founding member of Apocalyptic Artists Ensemble, a civic-minded production company that creates new adaptations of classic works for student audiences.
Recent directing credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream on tour, produced in collaboration with Red Bull Theater, and a miniseries filmed adaptation of As You Like It, made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts, and The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.
Next summer Kea will direct a workshop production of 16 Winters by Mary Hamilton, in residence at the EAG as part of their Open Stages Season.
Kea is a NYFA Women's Fund Grant recipient, a FY2025 NYSCA Support for Artists grantee, and an Outfest Screenwriting Fellow. She teaches Shakespeare in performance for Theatre For A New Audience and Lincoln Center, and Acting for Sarah Lawrence & Circle in the Square. She is also a proud volunteer at the 52nd Street Project.
